Federico Schiaffino

Federico Schiaffino is an Italian artist born in 1953 in Portofino, on the Ligurian coast.

He currently lives and works in Germany, in Soest, Westphalia. His work includes painting, sculpture, graphics, installations and performances. He attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, and then trained at the renowned Pratt Graphics Center in New York City, where he had multiple cultural exchanges that allowed his maturation.

Some of the subjects and main themes of his works are: human evolution, customs, rites, religions, superstitions, mythology, science, book culture, the impression of an emotion, dreams and the ideas that arise day by day from human experience in modern society.

 

His works have been exhibited in various galleries and art fairs including: the National Arts Club and the Society of American Graphic Artists in New York; Arch of Madrid; Cologne Art Cologne; Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. His works have been exhibited in New York City in various private Galleries, in Milan in the Giorgio Armani Collection and Borromeo Collection, in Venice in the Principe Emanuele Filiberto Collection.
